My god, the Chance eau de toliette is damn overpowering and lasting. I could still smell it.
Asked Darren what he usually does at work, to get a brief understanding on what I will be doing soon. Basically, tracking of shipments, liasing with suppliers and customers. However in the end, it's down to establishing a good rapport with the suppliers. U help, they help. Haha.. I heard that I might most probably be handling with more documentation stuff ( pei xi's job). Love the way he speaks, very tactful and cautious, wise sia. Darren last day work, intended to give him a card and choc tmr. :p Who's says I like him... ... ... ... haha...
Hai, got to work extremely hard these few weeks. I just feel that I can't stop. No wonder someone told me that he's worry that once I started working, I will turn into a workaholic. haha..
Today, I went to lunch with Monica, Pei xi and Evelyn. Chatted a bit but some of the jargons they used and job cases they encountered, I couldn't really understand. Just sit there and listen. haha.. Hope my relationship with the colleagues can get better. Just hope for the good 1st.
Today been doing the war room report the whole day when u actually need to update twice daily. sucks man, in the end of the comparison, what a huge discrepancy between mine and his. haha.
Alrite, I shan't be so discouraged, told myself never have too high hopes on saya, cos' I had tasted the fell before. It's not delicious. So now, I'll just absorb as much Darren can teach me. Even got my notebook ready. :p
Speaking about my mentor, hai, I will be an independent survivor after he leave for Australia this end of month. *sob* I felt like a little kid without a guardian = Struggling, though Deric and Pei Xi can guide me. Imagine when Pei Xi also leave in end of June, hmmm, of cos I'll be more experienced in my job, but I believe they might hire one more person. hehe...
Darren is a good mentor. Real good I feel. Willing to transfer his knowledge to me. Nice guy, rather good looking, stable and sensible though might show a little too-relax-attitude, hehe. However he has no choice either, otherwise he will get reprimand by Deric. Haha.
Strange, though it's only 3 days, but got use to his 'smell'. Perhaps we shared the same desk. haha.. I'm really like a baby. He smokes but somehow, it smells so nice. Feels the urge of sniffing him, some people will know I'm like that, weird.
Ho la ho la, people don't get the wrong idea, he's happily engaged though still young. I just look up to him as an advisor cum mentor. Someone whom I really admire. Hehe...
2 more days to go solo.
Thanks everyone who prayed for me, cos I finally got it.
Ordered Shanghai soup dumpling, Shredded pork noodle, beef brisket noodle, spicy mango prawn roll and homemade sour plum tea. The noodle is not too ex, @ SGD 5.60 a bowl. The la mian was not bad and not sticky. Mum said the zha jiang mian is too salty. I believed all zha jiang mian brings a bit saltiness.
My beef brisket tastes beefy, especially the gravy. I wondered why? Perhaps all the nutrients have immersed into it. Haha.. The xiao long tang bao does not have the hua tiao jiu taste, however the tang zi is too little. Hai.
The mango prawn roll wasn't that bad, dry not oily, however I had tried the best @ Golden Boat dim sum restaurant @ Marina Square. ( Will be blogging it next time). The roll isn't really cylinder shape. It's rectangular shape. Hmmm.
The tea brings out sour plum plus very chinese tea aroma. I believed that they soaked the sour plum in pu er. Haha.. Taste fine for me, at least I'm a chinese tea drinker.

Last last Sunday, I mentioned going to Macau Express @ Expo for lunch with my mum. Rmb?
My mum ordered a Macau Fried Dry Hor Fun. She said the hor fun is very normal. We could even find better ones somewhere. True enough, I tried some of hers, it's usual cze char style with some char siew taste, which brings sweetness to the dish.
The ingredients were pathetic, got a prawn, a luncheon meat, a few pieces of chinese sausage, some veggies and that's it. Yes! that's it while it costs SGD 7.90. I gonna give it 3 hmmms as it is saved by the smooth and chewy feeling of the hor fun. :)
I ordered a baked beef steak spaghetti. Hmmm, some big chunks of veggies such as boiled potato, cauliflower, carrot, french beans. A bit hard though and of cos', there is finely sliced beef. The dish is served with some melted cheese over the beef steak. A bit weird to me, like east meet west. Furthermore, looks are deceiving, the appearance looked firm but when I chewed them, nah, it's not even springy. It's overcooked till soft. Quite disappointing though the gravy got a bit of the curry taste which is rather appetizing. The beef are thinly sliced so they are tender. However, I thought I tasted pork. Haha..
It's about 1am when Steve called, so it's about 11pm at his place.
*Cont* We ordered 2 beverage. Mum said the coffee isn't thick enough, definitely lose to Ya kun coffee. I felt my yuan yang milk tea isn't "hiong" (aromatic) enough. Haha. The milk covers the tea taste. Hai.
We also ordered this salted Bacalhau, SGD 1.20 / pc. At 1st, we didn't know what the hell is that. There's no link between the word and picture menu. Haha.. We realised the bacalhau is potato croquette. True enough the bacalhau is salty. The outer layer is flaky instead of crispy. Wondered if it is because the croquette is cold. There is a heavy peppery taste. The croquette contains some spring onions, chives and fats bits I supposed. hehe. For the peppery and flaky reasons, I'm giving the salted Bacalhau 2.5 hmmms.
I'm munching on a cucumber. Haha..
Chatted on msn with Miszah and Jac just now. Jac is jobless like me, Miszah is working but wondering if she should further her studies in NUS. Lucky fellow, though she might have to go through a certain dilemma. However irregardless of working or studying, wish her all the best.
SP told me she treated a patient today. A guy from airforce army, as plane tech. Haha... Both hit off well. Haha... So she asked for his no. and the guy in the end gave her his msn, email, and hp no. Haha.. Ooh la la, what a generous offer.
These few weeks have been the best weeks for a glutton. Btw, my new nick is called glutton. Thanks to all the cravings and free time (jobless for almost 2 months) that made me piled up a few more pounds. I think I'll have to retreat back to my cave for the time being.
I thought since Qi Xing is gone for this moment, I could take a break from good food. It's all deception, haha. More food have since threw themselves into my embrace and the glutton couldn't help but indulge. Argh, I couldn't stand it anymore. Have to take a break from those real good food (calories-laden food). Btw, wondering why Qi Xing doesn't blog now. Why uh?
Alright, my next few blogs are on the goodies reviews, it's on the gorgeous HK or Chinese cuisine @ Expo. hehe.. Btw, wondering what should I have for dinner tmr? Chinese, western, korean, or just pepper lunch? Yew wee sure shoo me off. haha.. Dude, you are so fussy. Why not just stop by at Chinatown? Haha..
Sorry guys, if you have been waiting for the goodies reviews, you would have to wait a little longer, though I got my draft but I'm lazy to blog in. Been suffering from headaches these few days, even now. :(
Maybe you all would like to know my situation for this while. In fact I'm jobless for this whole month, living off my own savings. Sucking up dry sooner or later. Haven't got reply from NTU, but anyway I intended not to go uni now, perhaps 1 to 2 years later, or till I earned enough expenses and it's time to go. haha..
Only started to look for a job this week, but it's super effective through agency. I just went online to register for "Adecco". Got a reply from the people there within an hour. I was surprised. Haha.. So now the lazy me is depending on Adecco to seek a suitable job for me. haha..
Btw went to IBM for an interview today. Pretty relax, no stress and I loved the place. Was confident as compared to my previous me. No one piece, or half a piece when talking. haha..
However, it really goes down to the interviewers' decision.
I'm not pinning too much hope that I will be shortlisted as there is still a few more candidates. Hehe... One more thing, I think I really cork up in the situation question part. Argh... Will get a reply on Monday, if not, will seek for Adecco. Haha..
Hey guys, think we might not be meeting up this time due to all ur busy schedules (not mine of cos), but if you chance to read my blog, hope you could also update me with your happenings. :)
Lalala... So long till we meet again. Hasta la vista!
Hope you could bless me getting into IBM. :)
Love you...
*Crawling on the floor*
No more why.
Yesterday was a sleepy day. Accompanied my mum to service but I almost dozed off during Pastor Tan's preaching. Perhaps it's the 1st time listening to his preach, but he reminded me of my lecture days. Sleepy... Haha... My mum and sis said he's actually very good, funny and energetic. I hope so... *yawn* Haha...
Went to Macau Express @ the expo for lunch with mum. She wanna try the food there. Believed the food have this 'HK Cha Can Teng' style. I'm not saying much about it. If you all wanna know, just check it out my Goodies Review once-Macau Express. :)
Strangely, I couldn't speak what I planned to say. Have been wanting to have a good conversation with my mum. Believed this is the best moment when there's one familiar around either. :) However, we talked about other things but not what I wanted to say. Couldn't understand why is it so difficult to speak up. Hehe... After we finished, we headed straight to the MRT station. Still the time isn't right. When we are at the platform waiting, phew... I confessed everything from before to now... Blah blah blah blah blah.... I don't give a damn at that moment, cos' I realised that whenever we tried to talk, aha! We got into this big disagreement. I just wonder if it's the generation gap or sometimes we just don't get it. That's why I tried not to talk much to her now. So surprisingly, she just listened and gave her own opinion, perhaps she had nothing to say either. Haha... Hmmm, after speaking to her, I felt lifted. Feel real good. :)
Hi, I'm slightly crazy by now. Have to reach the back of my brains to search for information. Yup, on the same day, 02-04-06, me and Star continued our Makan quest. We wanted dessert. I thought of traditional chinese dessert but I decided to give it a miss as I had been eating them recently. Mum cooked them almost everyday for a period. Haha... In the end, I thought of the dessert house which sells 101 type of desserts. Decided to go for it despite getting neg comments of that place from my mum. Damn, should have listen to her.
The 101 desserts store is Jing Jing Dessert House @ 36 Temple Street #01-02. To be simple, it's just situated in Chinatown, along the shop houses. Sure can be found if you're a street-wise. ;)
How disappointed it turned out to be. All the 101 desserts looked relatively similar, just some changes here and there. Sucks man, decieved us innocent consumers who innocently know it only through word of mouth.
I ordered a wheat grass jelly with soursop pulp. Actually, it wasn't that bad. The jelly was not sweet, as the sweetness came from the soursop. Wonder did they add any syrup to the fruit? I hope not. But it's pretty nice. However, it's not special and we could actually prepare them at home, fuss free. Moreover, it costs SGD 4.
Star ordered blueberry sorbet. It tasted like crashed ice with milk and blueberry artificial colouring. Haha.. Yucks that's the worst SGD 5 sorbet I ever tasted. Oh so crashed ice. Haha...
I'm not really going to talk more about it. It just sucks and it's not recommended to go there. Never...
I'm gonna give my jelly 1.5 hmmms, and a hmmm for sorbet.
We settled our dinner in Chinatown. Hmm... Star was well- informed ya... Brought me to this place blocked by those "da pai dang". The food shop is called Lan Zhou La Mian @ no.19 Smith Street. Passed there ample times but just never thought of patronising becos' of the oh so plain decor.
I was full then, so Star ordered a Zha jiang mian and 1 long of xiao long tang bao. All noodles are pulled by a master, shifu. I really can't control myself but to steal a portion of the noodle from star. It's really appealing that time. The zha jiang mian was a bit sticky, and slightly hard to chew. However, the flavour is rounded ( haha, talk as if it's wine). It is not very salty, despite Star commented the opposite. I'll give it a 3.5 hmmms, can't really feel the taste of the noodle when I'm full but it's a confirmation that I'll be back there. :)
The xiao long tang bao comes in 8 pcs for SGD 6. Greedy me wanted to try the taste and in the end, I ate 4 of those. Haha.. Pretty nice, juicy. The good thing is that the skin does not tear when taken from the leaves, hence the soup is properly immersed inside the skin. Haha.. Nice... However, when you suck the soup, it tasted more like hua tiao jiu, believed that they put a lot. 1stly for the juicy taste, 2ndly, to cover all smell of those meat, might be overnight meat, who knows? The tang bao reminded me of mum's colleague's jiao zi. Taste the same in fact. That is why I feel that it's not that fantastic. That's why I'm giving it a 3.5 hmmms too.Cos' I'm craving to go back and try them again. Haha...
On 02-04-06, last Domingo, Me and one of my makan kakis, Star, went for Makan trip. This time Star brought me to a place called Casuarina Curry Restaurant, previously known as the Prata Shop. It's at 126 Casuarina Rd, somewhere near Upper Thomson Road, take bus 163 from Toa Payoh interchange is the most hassle free method to reach the place, remember to drop after Yio Chu Kang.
I believed the restaurant is more like a family-styled place. Restaurant? More like a stuffy eatery. Haha.. The place where we sat, table 26, is one hot place. Despite having a fan there, it's still suay, it wasn't switched on when we're there, and we weren't aware of it either. Two idiots.
I read through the webby night before, somehow got the idea of what to order. And so, we ordered a kosong prata (2.5 hmmms), a egg n onion(4 hmmms), a cheese (2 hmmms), a chicken masala (3 hmmms becos' of the chix tenderness), a teh-chino (2 hmmms cos' too milk) and a kopi-chino ice (3 hmmms, coffee taste). We weren't full so a mutton murtabak (3 hmmms, filling but is minced mutton, little mutton too, different from the restaurant in Little India) was added to the list (not in picture). Haha...
Alright, I admitted that I was deceived by the description on the webby telling me that the teh-chino is a refreshing beverage tastes of local Indian tea but with a cappuccino twist. Aha! I ordered and it turned out to be Lipton tea plus milk. If I knew, I would have ordered Teh Tarik.
The pratas are crispy and not that oily compared to some places, real good. However, I expected the same stuff in many other places. Perhaps the prata's flour is not too thick, that's why when it gets a little colder, it's still easy to tear apart. The best I ever tried is the egg n onion prata. Nice and filling, however, it's not as delicious when dipped in the curry gravy.
The chicken masala curry is rather salty, but the chicken is quite tender. Don't really recommend this to you all.
The cheese prata taste too salty and the cheese slice is the main culprit. Yucks, despite not tasting any cheesy smell. Thought of complaining it like Zhang Zhiyi in the Visa advert, but considering the aftermath, I decided not too. :)
The prices here are rather reasonable. Think we spend less than SGD20, forgot to ask Star if they charge 16% consumer tax. It was filling and worth trying if only you are fine with the ulu place. :)
Yes dudes and dudettes, if you did noticed, this is the 3rd goodies entry I wrote. Yup, all at once because I had tasted all these goodies several days ago and I didn't blog them. Haha..
Alright, this time, I'm gonna introduce you all to Suntory Sukkiri Orange, in english is Suntory Nacchan orange pet bottle orange drink. Qixing bought this drink in Meidi-ya on last Sunday (Think I'm right). Asked me to pick a bottle of Japanese drink (I wondered why local cannot meh?) In the end, I chose this bottle. Longed for it, but couldn't bear to buy it. Why? cos' it's SGD 3.70. Sorry Qixing, I didn't meant to chop your vegetable head *... it's just that the inner me is up to mischief. :) But still I'm so so happy that you gave the bottle to me. Yuhoo... However, I believed it will be short-lived cos' I discovered some 'scars' on its body this morning. Oh.. short lived....
Let's get down to business. Indeed, the drink lifted up the information on its bottle. Sha tang bu shi yong, wu zhao se, chun shui shi yong (english translation= no sugar added, no colouring and filtrated water is used.) Qixing and I felt the drink tasted like orange taste and water. It's not sweet, rather good for health. Nothing more I could say, just taste like very diluted orange syrup we prepare during BBQ at East Coast Park. Haha... Go figure it out.
Hmmm.. I'm gonna give it 2.5 hmmms, think it's very deceiving despite the oh- not- sweet-so diluted drink, the orange drink contains 35kcal per 100ml. The whole bottle is 500ml, so figure it yourselves again.
* Chop vegetable head is a Hokkien term meaning... Argh, couldn't explain in words, if anyone don't know, just ask me personally. :)
Aha! If you can't take sour and like to challenge yourselves, go ahead and try, 'cos it's super sour. Most people tend to sux when they try this sweet. Haha.. I'm 'immuned' to its sour-ness. Nothing can beat me, cos' I have a strong taste bud. Hahaha...
Let's see, the super lemon really taste like lemon when you place it into your mouth. Super sour! It's pretty good for your saliva gland as the sour can stimulate more saliva. Haha..
Alright, there's 3 layers. The outer coating is the lemon powder (that's the source of the sourness), the 2nd layer is a mild lemon candy, the innermost layer taste more sour.
Hehheh, I believe the best experience all people have with the sweet is the 1st reaction when they put the super lemon into the mouth. What a blast! Haha... Moreover, I just love their paper packaged, oh so vintage. So for these reasons, I'm giving it a 3.5 hmmms, the sweet loses 1.5 hmmms to aftertaste of the sourness.
Let's see, *take a bite*, this milk chocolate is yummy, milky, sweet within expectation. *Carefully took a another bite*, I bit off all the chocolate, woah, the rose centre is like a rose flavour cream, soft yet thick. The cream reminded me of bandung drink. Moreover, it's fun to suck the liquid out of the chocolate.
A big HOWEVER, the worst part is while you seems to enjoy the thick rose cream, you will also feel that it's beyond the appropriate sweetness. Argh, my troat is yelling for water, more water. If you dare (like me), bite the chocolate with the rose cream together. Aha! I bet you will have a wonderful time... choking. Haha..
I like sweet stuff so it doesn't really matter that this turkish delight is real damn sweet though. How disappointed. It could be a pretty delightful snack if not for the extreme sweetness.
That is why I'm giving the M & S Turk Delights 2 hmmms. Hmmm... Taste sweet but lovely smell, and brillantly packaged in 2 just-nice pieces. I'm still screaming for aqua vitae.
You're the only love I've known.
No joke, well that's true.
I know it's been quite a while, but there's something on my mind.
I haven't been the same since the day at Esplanade Bay.
I give u my trust cos' I know u care.
Yet all I found is an empty space in me.
Believed u would have think I'm not understanding, never gave u a thought, but did I not?
(bullsh** u will say)
I've been thinking all day.
I think I have a problem, I supposed I think too much and I think I'd be better off without you.
Well, I guessed you're sweet and hard to get over, but this time I'll just have to.
Call me a jerk, scold me a petty bitch and curse me as u wish.
Cos' I'm not perfect, I'm not what u expected me to be and I want free.
(That's crap! Am I rite?)
Perhaps I never loved you quite as well as the way you loved me.
I guessed I'll never really be able to tell you how sorry I am.
I don't know why red fades before blue however it just does.
I don't know what it is about me that I just can't keep still.
(I never trust u, well, now I'll leave it to u)
I'm not trying to give my life meaning by demeaning you.
I would like to state that it is hard to start what I have done, but I just don't want to live it that way.
I'm not saying that I'm a saint.
I will never be a saint.
Squint your eyes and look closer, I'm not between you and your ambition, I'm a poster girl with no poster.
I am ruthless and soon u will be glad that we descended.
I'm sorry you're hurt inside.
I'm sorry I made you cry if I really do, but I believed u would get over this shortly.
Our relationship is lifting you up but dragging me down.
It makes me go round and round.
Well, time makes a stop then it's all gone. Funny how memories keep lingering on.
I wondered but I keep on falling in and out of love with you.
However, the ride with you was worth the fall, my friend.
Everyone falls in love sometime, sometimes it's right and sometimes it's wrong.
But there will come a point when we exhale.
Well, I'm a woman, good, bad, sensitive, emotion, it's all in me.
All at once it hurts me more than you know, so much more than it shows.
Swee Poh's a vegetarian and it happened that most indian food is vegetarian too. It been a long time since I eat Indian food, still remembered eating at this place called ANB something ( besides Mustafa) with Mel and Wee. It's a nice experienced, we all love the chicken murtabuk. Big portion that could be shared between the 3 of us. Cool! :)
Back to yesterday, Swee Poh brought me to a small restaurant near Mustafa, called Ananda Bhavan Restaurant. Hmmm, it has the same system as Komala's, order and get a queue number. It was about 12.45pm then. Haha...
SP recommended the Bathura. We ordered lime juice (SGD 1.65), bathura (SGD 4) and a south indian set meal (SGD 5.75). Hmmm... Let's see... They charged GST too.
The Bathura was not bad, it was bloated like a ball and when it "burst", it's just like a fried prata.
The bathura taste like you tiao, it's almost the same. The flour thing is complemented with a big green chili and onions, some chickpeas gravy and something else, can't remember. Not bad though it's deep fried.
The Lime juice is nice, not too sour and sweet. Suits me. Haha..
The south indian set meal consists of rice, a prata, 2 "koropok", a vadai, mix veggie in yogurt, another veggie like the mei cai kou rou without the meat and of cos' some curry sauce.
It was filling even though we shared the dishes. The taste get mixed up as you eat, haha... But I believed it's expected when you tried any indian dish. What I could only feel is the spiciness of the curry. It was nice though, however, people who do not always or could not eat spiciness, you wouldn't want to try unless you are ready to go to the toilet. Haha... SP couldn't take it and she have to settle in the toliet. Haha...
I would like to give the lime juice 3.5 hmmms, though it was nice but lime contains citric acid that will corrode the teeth, haha, that's what I learnt from SP.
The Bathura earned 3 hmmms , it was really nice but it got hardened when it's cold.
The south indian set meal got 3 hmmms too, it comes in a big portion, but too much flour made stuff. Sadly there wasn't any meat becos it's a vegetarian restaurant. The set meal get spicier as you eat until a point where you really feel real hot. Phew, I finished them.
Overall, good place for meals if you got this flour craving and thought of going meat-free. :)
Went to Bugis food junction for lunch on 29th Mar with Star. I ate satay bee hoon (4 bucks) and it tasted simply plain. Bad, despite the generous ingredient the uncle gave me, but I believed the main character of the dish is le gravy. It just failed in the taste of the gravy. Hai.. I would hafta give 2 hmmms for it.
I realised Star has been staying on the sky for too long. Hence, I brought him around Bugis to check it out the street fashion. In the end, he bought a diamond stud. Good attempt to change. :)
Walked to Suntec despite the dizzling. As we waited at the traffic opposite Shaw Leisure Gallery at Beach Road, we stood under the shelter. Aha! Just then we met my "friend", this guy asked his friends whether they will melt in the small rain. Aha! again, what a person! Reminded me when I told Star I will melt in the rain for about 100 times when it rains recently.
Strolled through Suntec and stopped by Spectacles Hut, then off we went to the arcade like a sis bringing a bro ( though he's 18 year old). I suddenly thought of Ben and Jerry's! Yeah! Finally I'm able to try the ice cream. I don't care whether it's a sinner or not, whatever! We went for it... Just like a sis bringing a bro again. Haha..
Alrite, and so both of us got a small cup. Let's see.. I got a Dublin Mudslide (Irish Cream Liqueur Ice Cream with Chocolate, Chocolate Chip Cookies and a Coffee Fudge Swirl) and Chunky Monkey ( Banana Ice Cream with Fudge Chunks & Walnuts). Yummy!
In fact, the Dublin Mudslide taste like butter scotch, it's very sweet too. The chunky monkey has a mild banana flavour, the taste is not overwhelming. Hmmm, so it's not a very nice combination for this 2 flavours.
Star had Strawberry and some chocolate ice cream. He had the right combination. :) However, somehow, the flavours he chose are not adventuous enough. haha... Both cups cost bout SGD 10, expensive but filling too. The ice cream are thick and rich in ingredients. I can just say they are the best ice cream I ever tried so far. Cool!
Hence, Ben and Jerry's did a good job, they really earned 4.5 hmmms from me. :) Must try!
Haha.. I chose the wrong time to try B & J's, it was less than an hour before we had our dinner. haha.. In the end, we went to Marina Food Loft. I believed there is more variety of food compared to other places. Hehe.. We can't eat.. Really. Star could feel the ice cream inside him. The taste is not gone yet. Sama sama. We had no choice but to look for "lighter" meal.
Star was bright that day, he bought dim sum. Haha.. There is har gow, Siew mai, spring roll and zhu chang fen topped with char siew. The har gow was regular, the prawns in it are rather small and the skin is thick.
For the siew mai, it is still acceptable. Similar as har gow, it is small (smaller than yum cha and fortunate yum cha). I advise everyone to eat the dim sum 1st whenever it's served, when it's cold, it tasted not as nice.
I didn't try the spring roll, but from Star, he said there's some mushroom, minced meat in it. Wondered if it's crispy and nice, gotta ask Star too.
The zhu chang fen lacked of silkiness. The skin is too thick and hard for zhu chang fen but I can understand, handmade Zhu Chang Fen is always the best! The char siew taste a bit like chili minced meat. haha..
Hmmm... I gotta give the har gow 2.5 hmmms, siew mai 3.5 hmmms, Spring rolls ???, and lastly zhu chang fen 3 hmmms ( because I got to finish it all ;))
